    Twin Lights Lighthouse, Cape Elizabeth ME

    While staying in Portland for a few days, with my wife Cheryl,  Twin Lights Lighthouse was on our list of must get shots.  It’s also known as Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse depending on who you talk to.   We were on a tiny peninsula.  As you face the lighthouse to take the photograph there was an inlet of water between the lighthouse and the rocks I was standing on. Then the Atlantic Ocean was to my right and back side.  The rocks had a unique striation to them.  If you saw them in person they almost looked like wood.     Barn at Mount Pleasant Farm, Torrington CT

    I was barn hunting in Torrington and, on a whim, took a ride down University Dr., in hopes of finding some barns. Unless I researched ahead of time I always pick the roads that are out in the outskirts of town and in the country as much as possible.  This road led me to this beautiful barn.  I also found another beautiful barn with a gorgeous silo. I will post that separately. After I got home I realized that this barn was part of a bed and breakfast Inn.  The barn is rented out for weddings and such.  The large open floor lens itself beautifully to dances.  For more information…

    Old barn, Torrington CT

      Beautiful old working barn on University Dr., in Torrington CT. There was a woman on a garden tractor mowing the lawn just out of sight to the left.  She was near me on the road so I asked her permission to take the photograph and if she wouldn’t mind if I entered in about 25′ on the driveway to take the image. She had no problem with it but moments later a large, barking German Shepard headed straight for me at full speed.  I thought, this is it, this is the day I get bit by a dog for my art.
