    Christian Barn in Harwinton CT

I love everything about this stoic looking barn sitting high on a Harwinton CT hillside. It has quite a presence and the addition of a cross made crudely out of two pieces of unfinished lumber tells it all. Perhaps there is a message as the bright light from above breaks through the clouds and makes it’s presence on the barn. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42MP, full framed, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 43mm. ISO 200, 1/160th, f11, Aperture Priority

Goats in front of the barn in Harwinton CT

There was a small group of goats just off camera to the right but these three were nice enough to head over my way and pay me a visit. This scene was shot in the countryside of Harwinton CT. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42 MP, full framed, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105mm F4 lengs at 43mm. ISO 100, 1/200th, F11, Aperture Priority

Grazing bull in Litchfield CT ………

Cheryl looked on as I photographed this beautiful farm scene in Litchfield CT. Framed by two trees these cows, or bulls, grazed on this sloping field speckled with yellow wild flowers. This is actually the backside of the farm I posted on the same date. Photograhed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full frame mirrorless camera with a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 44mm. 1/200tg f16, ISO 400, Aperture Priority

Another old barn in gorgeous Roxbury CT

Another address on our list for Cheryl and I as we went barn hopping during a gorgeous spring afternoon in Roxbury CT. Home to only around 2300 residents, with little commercial development and a lot of farm land, this journey was a true pleasure. I decided to take in all the beautiful stone work in the lot opposite this barn. I don’t know if that land belonged to the barn owner or not but I felt it enhanced the image. There is a town road that seperates the lot in the foreground from where the barn sits but it’s hidden behind the stone wall. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42.4…

    Beautiful Roxbury CT!

Located in eastern CT about a 20-25 minute ride east of Waterbury CT sits the lovely town of Roxbury CT. Settled in 1796 with a current population of around 2200 people you feel like you’ve gone back in time. It was so nice to see such an expansive area that had not been disturbed by the modern trend of “farmland to residential/commercial use”. Cheryl and I didn’t have time to drive through the entire town but all the area’s we were in seemed like original undisturbed farmland many of which had barns still standing. Some of which were working farms today. This particular barn was the gem of the day…

    Cow Barn, Coventry CT

Cheryl and I were barn hunting in Coventry CT and added this to our already nice collection of Coventry barns from a previous trip. It appeared to me that this cow barn was still in use. Could possibly use a little paint but, all in all, was holding up fairly well. I was happy to see “Old Glory” proudly flying near the front entrance. Beautiful barn setting in Bethlehem CT

Cheryl and I caught an absolutely beautiful and warm October day while we set out to track down our list of barns in Bethlehem CT. Knowing that winter was right around the corner we wanted to capture as many barns as we could before the snow flew and the cold weather set in. The barn is untouched but honestly the land it sat on didn’t make for the best image. So I took artistic license and photoshpped the barn/silo into another scene. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, 24 MP camera and a Nikon 18-55 lens at 38 mm. (35mm equiv.=57mm) 1/250th, f13, ISO 100 Aperture Priority
