Located in eastern CT about a 20-25 minute ride east of Waterbury CT sits the lovely town of Roxbury CT. Settled in 1796 with a current population of around 2200 people you feel like you’ve gone back in time. It was so nice to see such an expansive area that had not been disturbed by the modern trend of “farmland to residential/commercial use”. Cheryl and I didn’t have time to drive through the entire town but all the area’s we were in seemed like original undisturbed farmland many of which had barns still standing. Some of which were working farms today.

This particular barn was the gem of the day with respect to it’s upkeep. Still in use today the owners have not spared any time in keeping it in tip top shape as well as the grounds around it. Sitting on the lawn is, what I believe to be, a 1949 FARMALL CUB tractor. Not only was the barn in pristine condition, considering its age but the adjoining silo was perfect as well.

Most of our shots we took that day suffered from harsh sun as I normally like to shoot in overcast weather. However, we were able to catch a break with this barn as we got some nice cloud cover.

The photo is an accurate representation except I made some modifications to the foreground in photoshop for the sake of artistic quality.
