    Hammonasset State Park

On a beautiful day in May I decided to stop at Hammonasset State Park (Beach) and take a walk around. Fall and early spring are always my favorite times at the beach because there is no one there except for the occasional walker and I have the entire place to myself. Spoken like a true introvert eh? I would have taken more images but I was pressed for time. The building you see if where there sell concessions once the beach opens up for summer but at this time it was closed. All images photographed with a Sony A7RV, at the 26mp resolution setting, and a Sony 24-70 GMII lens.

    Scoville Reservoice – Wolcott CT

Woodtick “Scoville” Reservoir Scoville Road Wolcott CT On June 9th of 2022 Cheryl and I decided to head over to the Woodtick Reservoir, known to locals as the “Scoville” Reservoicr. I had seen images of the reservoir area on the internet and saw some photo opp’s that I wanted to take advantage of. It was a beautiful sunny Summers day, approx. 85 degrees with limited humidity. The reservoice is approx. 120 acres large and is surrounded by tall, well established trees, that have been there forever. The town, many years, back, must have made a trail that follows the lake around its circumference. This path was plenty wide enough to…

    Towering Pines at the park…………..

So, honestly, I just felt all cooped up from working at home for weeks on end and had to get out so I took 20 minutes and went up to the local park minutes from my house. The park is located in central CT. It’s a beautiful park for walking and sports due to it’s large spacious fields but it falls a little short on foliage. The one exception being these beautiful towering pine trees. I thought this would make for a nice shot with the purple wild flowers scattered about the foreground and the nice blue sky peeking through the openings. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full…

An inside glimpse of Yale University

[wzslider autoplay=”true” interval=”6000″ height=”750″ lightbox=”true”]Cheryl and I attended a “photography meet up” held by Milford Photo, mid April, at the Yale University Campus.  It was a brief hour and a half guided tour which took us through some of the interior parts of the campus that we would otherwise not have access to. After another grueling Connecticut winter we were fortunate to have a gorgeous spring day. The sun was too harsh for optimal photography, (casting unwanted shadows), none the less we had a blast and certainly made the best of the conditions. We had a small group of about (30) of us.  The nice part was we were not constricted…
