Cheryl and I attended a “photography meet up” held by Milford Photo, mid April, at the Yale University Campus.  It was a brief hour and a half guided tour which took us through some of the interior parts of the campus that we would otherwise not have access to.

After another grueling Connecticut winter we were fortunate to have a gorgeous spring day. The sun was too harsh for optimal photography, (casting unwanted shadows), none the less we had a blast and certainly made the best of the conditions.

We had a small group of about (30) of us.  The nice part was we were not constricted in anyway.  Every time we set foot in a new area we were told to wander as we like but return to the group at such and such a time.  That left us able to pick and chose our shots.

The only interior shots you’ll see in the slideshow were from the Yale library.  Unfortunately the group was a little too much for such a quiet venue and security promptly asked us to leave.  So the shots you represent the main area that you walk into from the outside.  I did focus my camera on the wood inlay of the ceiling as it was so beautiful and unique. Security did say we could return later as long as we came in small groups.  We did not, however, go back.

It’s nice that Yale allows us this peak into the world of the few and fortunate.  The Yale experience and the sheepskin that goes with it are highly sought after……..and for good reason.

We’ll most likely do the photo walk again next spring as we really had a nice time.

Photographs were taken with:  Nikon D7100, 24mp DSLR, with 18-55mm lens and the Sony Nex 7, 24mp mirrorless camera, with 10-18mm F4 lens.
