    Horse barn Rt. 6, Andover CT

    Barn on Rt. 6 in Andover CT Rt. 6 is a busy, high speed road and the only way to get this shot, (without trespassing), is to stand on the edge of Rt. 6 while vehicles rush past you just feet away around 50 mph. TIP:  If I’m shooting on the road, any road, I wear a brightly colored reflective safety vest.  I also purchased, for merely $8.00, an orange collapsible safety cone which I put on the roadway about 30 ‘ before my vehicle to alert oncoming cars.  Keep your four way flashers going as well.     Barn, 99 Terry’s Plain Rd., Simsbury CT

    While barn hunting through the historic district of Simsbury CT, with my wife Cheryl, we came upon this huge beautiful barn to add to our collection. I couldn’t find any data on this barn but I would guess it was built during the 1800’s and maintained nicely over the years. Due to it’s long, rectangular shape, I suspect it was a location for town meetings and public dances at one time. It’s hi, almost modern looking windows, set it apart from most barns of that era.     Old barn, Torrington CT

      Beautiful old working barn on University Dr., in Torrington CT. There was a woman on a garden tractor mowing the lawn just out of sight to the left.  She was near me on the road so I asked her permission to take the photograph and if she wouldn’t mind if I entered in about 25′ on the driveway to take the image. She had no problem with it but moments later a large, barking German Shepard headed straight for me at full speed.  I thought, this is it, this is the day I get bit by a dog for my art.
