    Swirling Abstract

    I was simply trying to create art using a 12″ long kitchen whisk in which the steel was coated with  red rubber. To me this has kind of an outer space look but the beauty of abstract art is that it takes on whatever meaning you interpret it as. I set up the shot in my studio in a pitch dark room using a black background. The whisk was illuminated with an on camera flash then the red swirls were light painted by hand with a small torch and a red slip on filter over the end. Jason D.     Studio Shot – Vintage Phone Booth

    This is an approximately 18″ lantern from my house. It had a candle inside which I removed. The intent was to replicate a vintage phone booth. The top had been doctored and the words “PHONE” were added. I set this shot up in a pitch dark studio light painting it by hand to life. I used a Sony A7RM2, 42 mp, mirrorless camera with a Sony 24-105 F4 G OSS lens @ 42mm. 4 seconds, F8, ISO 50, MANUAL MODE, (1) hand torch.

    My 65th Birthday Present!

    My beautiful wife Cheryl commemorated by 65th birthday with this beautiful CASE brand knife that she had inscribed. I’m now officially a senior citizen. I’ve been a collector of folding pocket knives for many years and this addition just made my day! I’m especially fond of CASE knives as they are made in the USA, good quality and are affordably priced.
