Sunset at Osborndale State Park, Derby CT
Cheryl and I had never been to Osborndale State Park in Derby before so we decided to give it a go. It was a cold winters day and very few people were there. We parked in the designated parking area and it was a one minute walk to the pond. We were hoping to see ducks and geese but nothing. Cheryl wanted to photograph birds and headed over to the woods adjacent to the pond and waited. She came away with a nice red winged black bird and a woodpecker shot. Millers Pond State Park, Durham CT
Cheryl and I took a hike around Millers Pond in Durham CT. What a quiet little spot in the middle of the woods. One end has a very small sandy area that I guess they call a beach. Then around the park there are two or three “boulders”, for lack of a better word, that are located on the water’s edge lending themselves to sunbathing and fishing. All in all, however, there was almost no one there on the Sunday afternoon that we went. The attached photo’s show the pond itself and various points along the path we took for our hike.
