Hi gang! I’m soooo behind on posting this vast collection of visits/pictures I’ve acquired. Here it is nearly seven months later and the middle of summer and I’m finally getting around to posting this visit back from mid January.
I really enjoy going to the beach in the middle of winter to take my photographs rather than summer. Yes I know it seems odd but here’s the thing. It’s completely empty. When I’m photographing landscapes the emptier the better. So during this visit I had the entire park to myself including the Ellie Mitchell Pavilion grounds.
The majestic cobblestone Pavilion, built in 1936, provides an impressive view of Long Island Sound. I’m not totally sure, to what extent, the Pavilion is available to beach comers during the season. However, I do know that it has a capacity of 300 people and is rented out, during season, for weddings and events.
Looks to me like this State Park would provide a nice afternoon out for anyone. Don’t forget, bring your camera!
