    There’s beauty in this mess…………

At first glance it just looks like an overgrown mess. However, when you look closer you’ll see the beautiful roots spiraling up the tree to the right of the barn. The streaks of shadows, painting it’s west side, lend character to it’s already aging charm. With tears of rust and grime emanating from the window panes she perhaps longs for some attention. If you’ll look closely you’ll see the adjoining home, in much better condition, peeking through the V of the double tree. Yes, overgrown and unkempt but it’s nature intertwining with man’s creation and that can be beautiful. Live on old barn, live on! Photographed with a Sony A7RII…

Another beautiful barn in Roxbury CT

Another barn on our “to do” list of barns in gorgeous Roxbury CT for Cheryl and I. As you can see it’s a beautiful, tranquil setting that was most likely a bustling cow farm back in the day. The property owner came over to us and was very cordial welcoming us to photograph the barn as we liked. We shared our website address and hope he stops by to see the finished results. If you do please tell us what you think! The entire shot is “as is” however the stone wall was modified in photoshop for artistic reasons. Bold and beautiful in Roxbury CT

Cheryl and I photographed this grand old barn sitting by the road in Roxbury CT. It appears to be maintained fairly well and has nice lines. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 24 MP full frame, mirrorless camera with a Sony 24-105 F4 lens at 56 mm. 1/800th, f16, ISO 320 Aperture Priority

Old grey barn in Roxbury CT

Cheryl and I loved the town of Roxbury so much that we decided to come back this weekend. Once again it was a beautiful day for being out. This barn has a rather unique look with a silo that is capped differently than most and a basement entrance. It is located on Apple Lane. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42.4 MP full frame, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 39mm. 1/250th, f11, ISO 320, Aperture Priority

Spring surrounds this old barn in Roxbury CT

Trees are coming to life and wild flours are beginning to bloom in the surrounds of this old barn in the countryside of Roxbury CT. The original barns sits in the back as a new addition is on the left, apparent from it’s cinder block foundation.  One of the images shows the rear side of the new addition with the original silo springing forth to the rear.

Quaint One Room house in Roxbury CT

While barn hunting in Roxbury CT one sunny Sunday afternoon Cheryl and I stumbled upon this quaint old one room home. It doesn’t appear that it’s occupied but, at one time, I’m sure it was. It’s reminiscent of the 1800’s replete with granite slab footings, wood shingles, exterior siding, gutters and downspouts. The stone fireplace must have more than adequately provided heat on those cold New England nights. This was difficult to drive by without capturing an image. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full frame mirror less camera and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens at 42 mm. 1/250th, f16, ISO 400, Aperture Priority
