Old Cow Farm, Bethlehem
I was on my way to photograph another barn in Bethlehem when I spotted this farm scene off in a distance. It doesn’t appear that the buildings are actively being used but the presence of a tractor implies to me that the grounds are still being upkept. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, l24-70 f2.8 GMII lens at 55mm 1/100th, f16, ISO 100, Manual Mode

Ray White’s Metallic Eagle, Bethlehem CT
While Cheryl and I were driving through rural Bethlehem CT we happened upon this beautiful metallic welded American Bald Eagle in an open field on the side of the road. Immediately I pulled the car over and, fortunately, had my camera gear with me. The Eagle is probably about 6′ tall from claws to the top of the wings. It was absolutely beautiful with an exacting likeness to the bird itself. This masterpiece was created by local resident Ray White, a Viet Nam Veteran. It’s his patriotic show of affection toward our country and military. In 2016 Ray went on to make the 2nd largest welded Eagle in the country…

Barn in Bethlehem CT
Cheryl and I were out “barn hunting” in Bethlehem CT and came upon this beautiful white barn. It appeared that the 2nd floor was full of hay bails. Like my father before me I worked on a dairy farm as a kid. I remember being at the top of one of those conveyors receiving bails of hay and having to stack them as fast as I could to keep up with the farmer below. It was hot and the air was not very healthy but it was a memory I wouldn’t trade. Photographed with Nikon D7100, 24MP camera and 18-55 mm lens shot @ 35mm (35mm equiv = 52 mm).…

Barn in Bethlehem CT
Cheryl and I set out to photograph barns in Bethlehem CT and this is one of the beauties we found. Still a working barn and is nicely maintained as it’s banked into a slight hill with an attractive hand laid stone retaining wall. NOTE: The original image shows a roadway right next to the barn and it overpowered the image. For artistic purposes I removed the road in photoshop and created a “dirt” road. If you’re a barn hunter like me then Bethlehem is a great old country town to visit. Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-55 mm @ 24 mm 1/160th, f11, ISO 100
