Abandoned aging old steel barn, Terryville CT
The three of us were out barn hunting and saw this beautiful old abandoned steel building in Terryville CT. It sat about 100 yards, in an open heavily overgrown field, behind what was once a major steel fabrication shop. So although I don’t know for sure it just seems like it could have been a maintenance shop for that facility. Although shot in color I rendered it in black in white to give it a sort of nostalgic look as it sits long abandoned and isolated. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 f2.8 GMII lens. To get extra reach I switched to JPEG resolution…

Beautiful old aging barn in Southbury
To me this barn is very striking. It appears to sit abandoned in the middle of the woods with no lead in road or path. Father time is having it’s way as the foliage creeps in around it and the paint fades. Two things I found unique. There is about 6′ overhang on the side nearest the viewer. You don’t see that on barns. The silo is also unique as well as the silos roof. The silo almost has a “home made” look to it but I’m sure was functional and I think gives this barn a lot of character. It’s a true relic. Photographed in the winter with a…

Abandoned Mill – Paxton MA
Moores State Park in Paxton MA is a nice tranquil area with a good sized pond, brook, waterfall and 18th century sawmill. This is the image I took of the sawmill mid September of 2021. Unfortunately the better shot is from the backside which shows the water wheel and the brook running alongside but I wasn’t able to gain access for a good shot. Normally I wouldn’t have even photographed the waterfall because the lighting was so horrendous but knowing I may never be back I did so anyway. I took a series of (40) shots in rapid succession at 1/30th, F11, ISO 100. I then merged them in camera…
