Let me be totally up front with you.  Cheryl and I were down in Manhattan for the day celebrating our wedding anniversary with a nice dinner.  We took in a couple of sights while there, one of which was MONA.

I wasn’t about to ruin our anniversary by kicking into “photographer mode”.  God knows that can be obnoxious for the other person.  So to make darn sure I left my good equipment home and just had a pocket camera with me.

The Fuji f100fd, 12 mp, pocket camera is a nice little camera for outdoor pictures, (provided you don’t need a very wide zoom), but indoors it’s a bust.  It  has pathetic low light capability in hand held mode without flash.  Of course, like many art museums, you can’t use flash.

So I just took a couple of pics, most of which came out rather horrible, so I could document my visit a little bit.  There is something about Warhol’s Campbell shoot piece that I kind of dig and I threw a Monet in cause it’s Cheryl’s favorite painter. There is also a U.S. flag picture.  If a flag is in unusual spot I photograph it.

Let me apologize for the poor perspective on most of these photo’s.  I did my best to straighten it out in photoshop but……not so good.  The color hue and distortion, of course, are not representative of these fine works of art.

Long and short.  It’s a great stop to make. It takes in several floors and was jamming with people the day we were there.  If you have any appreciation at all for art this is a MUST when you’re in New York City.  To take in the museum online go to: http://www.moma.org/
