I looked out my window and saw this massive bird walking around on the ground. It was so large I actually thought it was a turkey (from a distance). It then flew up into this tree.
What you’re looking at is his backside. When he spotted me in my window he turned his head around a complete 180 degrees.
What cannot be appreciated in this image is just how large this bird is. It had to be the largest hawk I’ve ever seen.
I quickly grabbed my Nikon D7100 and put an 80-400 mm Nikon lens on it and quickly took the picture from my window.
