What struck me odd about this abandoned bakery was not so much that it was abandoned but rather where it was located.  The picture gives the impression that it’s in the middle of the woods but it sits in a rural residential neighborhood of Southington CT. There are beautiful homes up and down this street and no commerical or retail entities.  So you wouldn’t expect this.  I suspect it was built before the neighborhood really took off.  Who know’s?  It just looked kind of odd to me but I’m sure the neighbors were happy to have good baked bread so close to home.  When it went out of business I don’t know.

  1. I loved this bakery. They had the best pies and cheese babka. I remember Eddies wife at least i think it was his wife was always barefoot. Sad to see it closed.

  2. So I live right down the road from Eddie’s bakery and I have noticed recently they have cleared some brush and you can now see the building again I think that they’re trying to do something with it but I’m not sure what, does anybody know?
