    War Medals

    My Grandfather served in WW II (1939 to 1945).  He served approx. (4) years the dates of which I’m not exactly sure.  He was in the Army’s infantry unit and resigned as a sergeant (E5). I don’t have all his ribbons or medals but am fortunate enough to become the safe keeper of the (3) shown in the photo: BRONZE STAR –  The Bronze Star, is awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone PURPLE HEART – Awarded to those wounded during combat.
