Picture perfect barn in Woodbury CT
On the way back from a photoshoot in Roxbury Cheryl and I, by chance, happened upon this beautiful old barn in Woodbury. It’s been in the family for many years and belonged to the current owners Grandfather. This is not its original site as the entire barn and foundation were moved here at one time. There had been an addition in the rear which had suffered a collapse. This is one of the most beautiful barns I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing with its unique styling and weathered barn board. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 F2.8 GMII lens @ 52mm. 1/4 second,…

Beautiful old aging barn in Southbury

Father time is having it’s way as the foliage creeps in around it and the paint fades. Two things I found unique. There is about 6′ overhang on the side nearest the viewer. You don’t see that on barns. The silo is also unique as well as the silos roof. The silo almost has a “home made” look to it but I’m sure was functional and I think gives this barn a lot of character. It’s a true relic. Photographed in the winter with a…

Drowning in ivy…………Berlin CT
This beautiful old barn is slowly becoming one with nature as foliage overcomes it. I would think it’s a pretty fair assumption that this barn has been put out to pasture. I’m glad that it, at least, has not been torn down (yet?). There is still a story her to be told and, as far as I’m concerned, these old barns have charm until they can’t stand any longer. This barn was one of a handful on Orchard Rd. in Berlin CT. Photographed with Nikon D7100 and a Nikon 18-55 lens at 40mm / 60mm equiv in 35. 1/160th, F11, ISO 100 A Two shots were taken: One of the…
