This large well maintained beauty of a barn and Silo sits quietly at the end of a long autumn New England day on Tranquility Rd., in Middlebury CT. I’d love to know when this was built. I suspect it’s older than it looks as, I’m sure, this was all farm land back in the day. It is maintained unusually well for an old barn. All the white trim around the windows and doors are updated and in perfect condition. This combination farm house/barn/garage is absolutely a work of art. If I had to guess it was probably built in the late 1800’s with post and beam construction. Although it’s very beautiful from the road it’s true beauty is in the detail. If I was able to go into these structures it would take me back in time. Built with such fine craftsmanship that they stand solid today after all these years. These grounds have an absolutely breathtaking view of Middlbebury’s valley.
