    Unique barn in Burlington CT

Cheryl and I were chasing down barns in Burlington CT this sunny Saturday afternoon. I particularly liked the unique design of this barn and the way the wood aged. Although I’m not a big fan of bright sunny days for shooting I did like the way the sun fell through the tree’s onto this barn and the end result. NOTE: This barn actually sits just a few feet from an asphalt roadway which totally ruined this shot. I did take the liberty to remove the roadway in photoshop and substitute it with a nice grassy lawn which I had photographed minutes earlier elsewhere in town. Photographed with a Sony A7RII…

    Don’t knock on this door!

If you look closely, this mysterious small A-Framed structure, is visible in the woods of Burlington CT from the roadway. The bold sign on the front door states “POSTED-NO TRESPASSING”. So, like I always do, I respect private property and no trespassing signs and didn’t get closer than the image shows. What lies within this rather cool and mysterious looking structure? I don’t know and I’ll never know but I do think it made for a cool image. Cheryl stayed in the car planning our route for our next barn stop. A Monroe CT barn……..

The second of only two barns that we were able to capture on our journey to Monroe CT this bright sunny June afternoon. It looks like we’re in the middle of the country but in actuality this was the only angle on the barn I had due to the proximity of the buildings on each side. This was a small, winding, but well travelled road in the midst of this residential neighborhood. I had to make it quick because with all the vehicluar traffic going by my car presented a bit of a hazard. Having said all that this is certainly a nice old barn with some character. The property…

Ivy crawling up the sides of this barn…………..

Cheryl kept the car running while I took a quick shot of this old red barn in the Monroe CT area. The ivy crawling up the side of the barn gives it a nice look as it sits in the middle of the field. After this we headed out to view the other barns on our list but didn’t have a lot of luck today. We were able to photograph one other barn in Monroe but that’s a pretty small catch for us. Towering Pines at the park…………..

So, honestly, I just felt all cooped up from working at home for weeks on end and had to get out so I took 20 minutes and went up to the local park minutes from my house. The park is located in central CT. It’s a beautiful park for walking and sports due to it’s large spacious fields but it falls a little short on foliage. The one exception being these beautiful towering pine trees. I thought this would make for a nice shot with the purple wild flowers scattered about the foreground and the nice blue sky peeking through the openings. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full…

    Barn & horse in Bethany/Woodbridge CT area………

My apologies but I’m not sure if this was taken in Bethany or Woodbridge CT. I remember not being able to locate the town line sign but it was certainly close to the town line. This was a beautiful corner lot of multiple acres which situated upon it were a barn, house, coral and field located on a main route going through town. The image was shot as seen except for one slight modification to the grounds in photoshop. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full frame mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 41 mm. 1/40th, f16, ISO 400, APERTURE PRIORITY

Grazing bull in Litchfield CT ………

Cheryl looked on as I photographed this beautiful farm scene in Litchfield CT. Framed by two trees these cows, or bulls, grazed on this sloping field speckled with yellow wild flowers. This is actually the backside of the farm I posted on the same date. Photograhed with a Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full frame mirrorless camera with a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 44mm. 1/200tg f16, ISO 400, Aperture Priority

    Litchfield farm scene………

Cheryl kept the seat warm in the car while I photographed this farm in Litchfield CT. I believe, these days, it is primarily a horse farm. If you look at coral at the far right there are some horses present. Only modification in photoshop was the foreground by the roadway.
