Hidden behind the fall foliage a beauty still stands…….
Another gorgeous barn quietly hidden beyond the fall foliage of New England on Burnt Hill Rd. in Hebron CT. This barn actually sits behind a farm house (to the left out of view). However, it was completely blocked by the yard and trees. I was forced to drive down the street a bit and shoot accross a swampy wetlands area with a long lens to reach it. If money’s not an option then build this monster barn.
What a monster of a barn on Ramstein Rd. in the Bakersville section of New Hartford CT. Judging from it’s design and pristine appearance I would think it’s fairly new construction. Although I typically photography “old” barns how could I resist this massive beauty? Still standing strong in retirement……..
This barn may have been put out to pasture years ago but it is still holding its own as foliage tries to overtake it on every side. I think it’s a gem of a barn and I hope it stands for many years to come representing all the hard work of the farmers who passed through it’s doors. It can be seen at the corner of South Rd. and Sabolick Rd., in the countryside of New Hartford CT. Pristine barn sits pretty in the field.
As you can see this barn has been kept up beautifully and presents a near pristine appearance. It was located on Valley Falls Rd. in Vernon CT. If this was shot with a wider lens you’d see that this barn is situated on probably about 10 acres of land, all of which is manicured. In fact there was a professional lawn crew tending to the grounds when I shot this photo. The only reason I couldn’t shoot it with a wide angle lens is that it would have appeared too small in the photo due to the distance from the camera. When I used a long lens it compressed the…

The silo stands majestically through the trees.
I’m standing in the center of Birdseye Rd to take this shot. It is a very rural, infrequently traveled road on the outskirts of Shelton CT. If it wasn’t for my reflective vest you’d have difficulty seeing me due to all the shade the surrounding tree’s provided. I see a pickup truck slowly approaching me. Sure enough it was the owner of the farm. I’ve met a fair amount of farmers over the years while photographing their barns and they all share one thing in common. Rich Farm Ice Cream 691 Oxford Road (Rt 67) Oxford, Connecticut 06478 When Cheryl and I pulled the car along the side of Rt 67 to photograph this absolutely gorgeous barn it started raining. I rolled down the drivers side window and was able to squeeze off two shots but it was raining to hard that I had to close the window and call it a day. Fortunately when I got home I was glad to see that I got a decent shot.
