Sunset at Osborndale State Park, Derby CT
Cheryl and I had never been to Osborndale State Park in Derby before so we decided to give it a go. It was a cold winters day and very few people were there. We parked in the designated parking area and it was a one minute walk to the pond. We were hoping to see ducks and geese but nothing. Cheryl wanted to photograph birds and headed over to the woods adjacent to the pond and waited. She came away with a nice red winged black bird and a woodpecker shot. Barn on the bank of the Shepaug River, Roxbury CT
Cheryl and I were barn hunting off our list in Roxbury/Woodbury CT and were fortunate enough to photograph this beautiful old barn situated on the banks of the Shepaug River. This barn has been nicely maintained over the years. It made for a quaint setting. I’m sure in the fall it will be gorgeous. Perhaps we’ll return. Abandoned Silo in Woodbury CT
Cheryl and I were photographing barns in the Woodbury/Roxbury area when she spotted this old abandoned silo off in a field. I immediately turned the car around and drove down a very short dirt road to this beautiful relic of a silo. I always find beauty in abandoned buildings, barns, silo’s etc. not to mention the “story” I conjure up in my mind of what life was like back in the day. I found this silo particularly beautiful in its own right complete with graffiti.
