    Old Cow Farm, Bethlehem

I was on my way to photograph another barn in Bethlehem when I spotted this farm scene off in a distance. It doesn’t appear that the buildings are actively being used but the presence of a tractor implies to me that the grounds are still being upkept. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, l24-70 f2.8 GMII lens at 55mm 1/100th, f16, ISO 100, Manual Mode

    Auer Farm, Bloomfield CT

Auer Farm 158 Auer Farm Rd. Bloomfield, CT 06002. Open seven days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM Myself, Cheryl and Molly took a ride out to the Auer Farm to see if we could get a decent picture of the barn as well as a little frolic time for Molloy to investigate the goats and donkeys etc. When we arrived there was a large birthday party for “Jacob” that saw guests pretty much occupying what was once the farms cow barn. As a result we never went inside. Cheryl and Molly walked about the grounds looking for interaction with Molloy, (our Golden Doodle puppy), and seemed to…

Pristine Colorfully Warm Barn – Woodbury CT

This is the second of three barns that Cheryl and I were able to photograph today in Woodbury CT. This main barn is actually much longer than it appears from this camera angle. If you look closely you can see where it juts out in the rear and the length continues considerably. This entire property from the grounds, to the farm house and the three barns is absolutely pristine. You can’t even find a paint chip. It was quite obvious that these barns are quite old but no worse for wear. They almost appear brand new, at a glance, due to the exceptional level of maintenance that was afforded them.…

    The Portland Bridge, Portland CT

To us locals it’s known as the Portland Bridge as it connects Middletown to Portland CT.  However, its official name is the Arrigoni Bridge.  This image was taken in Cromwell on the river bank of the Connecticut River. In the background is Middletown. Only about 1/3 of the bridge was visible from my vantage point. There is another complete arch to the bridge on the Portland side as well as “non-arched” bridging.  There are two eastbound and two westbound lanes. The bridge carries traffic from Rt. 66/Rt. 17 and see’s about 34,000 cars a day. Construction on the bridge was completed in 1938.  It’s length is 3428 ft. and 44.9…
