Hidden gem in Deep River CT

This small, but beautifully aging, barn is situated on a residential lot in the countryside of Deep River CT. I love the way the wood has aged.  The only thing that would have made this even better is if the original roof was still in place. Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24.3 MP mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 mm lens. 1/160th, f8, ISO 400 at varying focal lengths.

Huge old barn proudly flies the colors……………….Berlin CT

This “L” shaped barn packs some serious square footage. If you look to the left bottom corner of the barn you’ll see that there is a walk-in to the basement. It looks as if the roof was replaced at one time. Overall the barn is in pretty decent shape and certainly has a fair amount of curb appeal. Located very close to the adjoining homes I was not able to offer a wider view of the grounds it sits on. This barn is on Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin CT. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-55 lens @ 35mm, (52=35mm equiv.) 1/250th, f11, ISO 100 APERTURE PRIORITY.

    Snow capped Southington CT barn

I vaguely remember that this beautiful old barn was somewhere in “central” Southington CT. By that I mean it was not on the outskirts of town in the wooded area but rather in a more downtown residential area.  The barn itself was only about 15′ from the road. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-55 @ 34 mm (35 mm equiv. = 51 mm)   1/100th, f11, ISO 100, Aperture priority

    Barn in Avon CT

Cheryl and I stumbled upon this barn while barn hunting in Avon CT in December of 2018. Except for some minor damage on the cupola it has been maintained well with, what appears to be, a recent quote of exterior paint. Photographed with: Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-55 lens @ 40 mm (60mm = 35mm equiv.) 1/400th, f8, ISO 200, Aperture Priority
