    Swirling Abstract

    I was simply trying to create art using a 12″ long kitchen whisk in which the steel was coated with  red rubber. To me this has kind of an outer space look but the beauty of abstract art is that it takes on whatever meaning you interpret it as. I set up the shot in my studio in a pitch dark room using a black background. The whisk was illuminated with an on camera flash then the red swirls were light painted by hand with a small torch and a red slip on filter over the end. Jason D.     Peace and quiet in Morris CT

    Morris CT is a town in Litchfield county with a population of around 2500 residents. Having spent the better part of an afternoon chasing barns here with Cheryl I can tell you that Morris is very rural and wooded. There was very little in the way of commercial business. We came upon this very nice wood clad home nestled at the base of a mountain surrounded by nothing but country side. If you’re looking for peace and quiet then these folks found it.     I put this poster together as an ode to a hobby that has given me so much through the years. It’s like the poster says although I’m getting old with every passing year when I pick up a camera I get rejuvenated. It’s a gift. Those of us that feel that way know what I mean. Those of us that don’t will probably never understand. These camera’s represent what I have on hand right now going back to old film camera’s.
