    Real Barn meets miniature truck

I photographed this large, well maintained old barn in Haddam CT. For fun I then photographed a 1950’s 3″ long diecast model toy truck in my studio. Using photoshop I then put the truck in the driveway of the barn just for fun. Barn photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 f2.8 GMII lens @ 45mm. 1/125th, f11, ISO 200, Aperture Priority

Welles-Shipman-Ward Homestead & Barns, Glastonbury CT

The Welles-Shipman-Ward House is a historic property in South Glastonbury, Connecticut, originally built in 1755 for John and Jerusha Welles. The main house is a Georgian-style mansion with one of the largest colonial-era hearth fireplaces in Connecticut. Over the years, it has been preserved and restored, maintaining its original colonial charm. The property also features several outbuildings, including: A four-story colonial-era New England bank barn. A 19th-century tobacco shed, which is now used for events. Barn Beauties on the CT coastline (5 STARS)

These two barns sit almost directly across from one another along a well travelled CT coastal country road. If you’re one to pay any attention to old barns what will immediately strike you is their absolute pristine, new like, appearance. The roofs are brand new, the cladding does not show one board that is so much as slightly warped. None of the boards even have signs of aging at ground level where you tend to see it most. New looking storm windows are in place and on the larger barn there were even some small windows that were added which are not typical of barns. The sliding front doors on…

Beautiful old barn & silo, East Windsor CT

This barn and silo served two functions. The silo held some type of granular food which must have been for the farmers animals or potential storage and sale of whatever was inside. When I zoomed into the image, in hi-resolution, I could see a series of vertical boards in the upper half of the side wall that were obviously opened at times to allow for the drying of tobacco. So I would think this resourceful farm had more than one crop and possibly livestock as well. Either way to me it’s a beautiful site! I photographed this image with a Sony Nex-7, 24.3mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 f3.5-5.6…

Miniature Truck in a Big World

For this shot I photographed a 6″ metal diecast model of a 1940 Ford Pickup truck that I bought new for $23.00 at a flea market. I video taped it on a 360 deg. turnstile and also shot still photography images. I then inserted the tabletop shot of the truck into a previous picture of a tobacco barn that I had taken. I did add the signage on the side of the truck from an image I found on google images (garageartsigns.com). The barn is located somewhere in north central CT which is rich in tobacco barns. I didn’t record where the picture was taken. Settings for the diecast model…

    Old Barn, Avon CT

While photographing a one room schoolhouse with Cheryl we were fortunate enough to find this old barn across the street in Avon CT. Both still image and video photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 f2.8 GMII lens. IMAGE: 1/160th, f11, ISO 100, 70mm, MANUAL MODE

Cheryl and I were barn hunting in Monroe CT, this afternoon in December, and I was able to take this image. The foreground was modified slightly in photoshop to add some artistic appeal. Picture perfect barn in Woodbury CT

On the way back from a photoshoot in Roxbury Cheryl and I, by chance, happened upon this beautiful old barn in Woodbury. It’s been in the family for many years and belonged to the current owners Grandfather. This is not its original site as the entire barn and foundation were moved here at one time. There had been an addition in the rear which had suffered a collapse. This is one of the most beautiful barns I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing with its unique styling and weathered barn board. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 F2.8 GMII lens @ 52mm. 1/4 second,…
