Snow capped Southington CT barn
I vaguely remember that this beautiful old barn was somewhere in “central” Southington CT. By that I mean it was not on the outskirts of town in the wooded area but rather in a more downtown residential area. The barn itself was only about 15′ from the road. Barn between the Elms
Cheryl and I were chasing down a list of barns we wanted to shoot in Avon CT this chilly December day in 2018. Down the street from one of the ones on our list, low and behold, was this beauty. It was situated in an open field a considerable distance off. When photographed that way it lacked any interest. I then switched to a medium telephoto lens and stepped back into the roadway so I could frame the barn with the two elm trees.
