Horse farm barn in Middletown CT

    August 23, 2019 / No Comments

I don’t typically see this large gambrel style barn on horse farms so it was nice to come upon it.  This style is more typical of cow farms. I think it is a beautifully built barn and I particularly like it’s grand front entrance.  The sign on the front wall says “Old Farms Riding Club Middletown CT”. There wasn’t much…

A deer passes through in Madison

    August 21, 2019 / No Comments

The only other time I photographed this barn was in the winter where the tree next to it was barren.  I was rushed and shot it out of the window of my car and I momentarily pulled off to the side of the road.  I was not pleased with the results and have been wanting to come back ever since.…

Resting barn under the summers shade in Berlin CT

    June 10, 2019 / No Comments

This well built old barn sits snuggled between two trees enjoying the shade on a hot summers day. Located on Chamberlain Hwy. in Berlin CT. You don’t see a lot of brick foundations for these old barns like this one has. Even more unusual is the custom window at the peak of the side wall. Unfortunately when I zoomed in…

    Drowning in ivy…………Berlin CT

    June 10, 2019 / No Comments

This beautiful old barn is slowly becoming one with nature as foliage overcomes it. I would think it’s a pretty fair assumption that this barn has been put out to pasture. I’m glad that it, at least, has not been torn down (yet?). There is still a story her to be told and, as far as I’m concerned, these old…

Huge old barn proudly flies the colors……………….Berlin CT

    June 10, 2019 / No Comments

This “L” shaped barn packs some serious square footage. If you look to the left bottom corner of the barn you’ll see that there is a walk-in to the basement. It looks as if the roof was replaced at one time. Overall the barn is in pretty decent shape and certainly has a fair amount of curb appeal. Located very…

    Soutghington Farm blanketed with snowfall

    March 8, 2019 / No Comments

This large red barn fades into the evening as the beautiful lights from a New England sunset bring the day to a close on the outskirts of Southington CT.  The farm owners home is seen peeking behind the left side of the barn. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, 18-55 @ 40 mm. 1/250th, f16, ISO 100, Aperture priority.
