Hidden behind the fall foliage a beauty still stands…….

Another gorgeous barn quietly hidden beyond the fall foliage of New England on Burnt Hill Rd. in Hebron CT. This barn actually sits behind a farm house (to the left out of view). However, it was completely blocked by the yard and trees. I was forced to drive down the street a bit and shoot accross a swampy wetlands area with a long lens to reach it. The long lens compresses the image and gives the appearance that it is closer to the road than it actually is Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24MP, mirrorless camera and a Sony 55-210 F4.5-6.3 OSS lens at 109mm (in 35mm = 163).…

    Coyote prowling a dairy farm.

[wzslider height=”510″ lightbox=”true”]Coyote in the foreground prowling around the farm with unsuspecting cows in the distant background. I was able to scare the coyote off but I can’t guarantee tomorrow.  Typically coyote’s don’t attack cows but their calf’s are vulnerable. Image captured on Whirlwind Hill Rd., Wallingford CT. Abananded Barn – Somers, CT

[wzslider autoplay=”true” interval=”6000″ height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]While driving down Main St., in rural Somers CT, I happened upon these beautiful aging old barns.  It was simply by accident but these barns married well with my affinity towards abandoned buildings and character rich barns. Luckily I had my trusty Fujifilm F100fd, 12 mp, digital pocket camera stowed away in the center console.  It’s usually there as a backup and today it served that need.  I wish the fixed zoom lens had more width as I could have used it.  However you make the best with what you have and the vantage points that are available. I can’t make out the faded lettering…

    Abandoned Barn – Cheshire, CT

I was driving down Ives Row in Cheshire, CT when I noticed this old barn. I did a U-turn and, pulled to the side of the road, and shot this scene out my drivers window.  I used a Sony Nex 7, 24 mp, digital camera and a Sony 10-20 mm wide angle zoom.  1/125, F 6.3, ISO 100.
