Clover Nook Farm, Bethany CT
Clover Nook Farm 50 Fairwood Road Bethany, CT 06524 (203) 393-2929 Cheryl and I made our first visit ever to the Clover Nook Farm. We both got what we needed. They had a nice country store and Cheryl was able to purchase some fresh vegatables. While doing so I was able to photograph their cow barn across the street as well as other parts of their property. I found their store to be exceptionally clean and nicely organized. All images were taken with a Sony Nex 7, 24.3 mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 lens.

Ludorf Barn, Southbury CT
Ludorf Barn 502 West Purchase Rd., Southbury CT In doing my research I came upon the Ludorf Barn/Museum in Southbury CT and headed out this beautiful winters day to photograph it. As I arrived the fist thing I noticed was that this rural fairly desolate setting was in a fairly elevated location allowing for beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The barn was donated in 2009 by Marie Ludorf to the Southbury Historical Society. Since that time the Society has restored various parts of the buildings and grounds, including inside items such as carriages etc. The grounds, consisted of 2 acres with a rather large barn, (shown in my image),…

Nice maintained old barn in Watertown, CT
Cheryl and I were combing Watertown looking for old barns. The town didn’t seem to have many. This barn is the nicest one we could find and it has been kept up over the years very nicely. It sits on a stone foundation which is the only hint of its age but the remainder is pristine. These folks obviously have made the effort and it shows. Photographed with a Sony Nex-7, 24.3 mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 lens at 27mm (APS-C equiv.= 40mm). I/800th, F8, ISO 800, Aperture Priority

Reflections of MacKenzie Reseroir, Wallingford CT
On our way back from photographing a barn on the East side of Wallingford Cheryl wanted to stop and photograph some ducks flying around MacKenzie Reservoir. While I was waiting for her I looked for a shot. This is what I came up with. What appealed to me about this image was the absolute symmetry this cluster of tree’s presented. It was completed balanced from top to bottom and left to right. You don’t see that a lot. Photographed with a Sony A7RV 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens at 24mm. 1/320th, f18, ISO 1000, Aperture Priority

One of Northfords best barns
We had gotten a light snow fall and wanted to head over to this beautiful barn in Northford CT not far from the Wallingford line. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 F2.8 GM II lens @ 39mm. 1/200th, f16, ISO 800, Aperture priority, (2) image focus stack.

Sunset at Osborndale State Park, Derby CT
Cheryl and I had never been to Osborndale State Park in Derby before so we decided to give it a go. It was a cold winters day and very few people were there. We parked in the designated parking area and it was a one minute walk to the pond. We were hoping to see ducks and geese but nothing. Cheryl wanted to photograph birds and headed over to the woods adjacent to the pond and waited. She came away with a nice red winged black bird and a woodpecker shot. I had a short zoom on my camera which was not conducive to birding so I tried to find…
