Horses Grazing at The Butterfly Farm, Lincoln RI

The Butterfly Farm 667 Great Rd., (Rte. 123) Lincoln, RI 02865 While in Lincoln RI I spotted this beautiful farm scene that I had photographed years ago. However, this time it had two horses grazing in the field. In addition the sky was warm and the fence in the foreground had an interested break. These are the kinds of scenes I relish and look for. There is a lot going on at the Butterfly Farm. Grazing Horses in the fall……….Hamden CT

I took a ride over to the Hamden Polo Grounds to see what I could find. It was a beautiful fall day and leaves were dropping fast. They had four fenced in fields camera accessible from the road to pick from. Each one had horses but varying backgrounds. I ultimately chose the image, with the three horses, as my favorite. It framed the horses nicely and had the most colorful fall backdrop. Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24.3MP, APS-C mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 F3.5-5.6 lens @ 54mm (35mm = 81mm). 1/320th, f5.6, ISO 800, Aperture Priority

    Litchfield farm scene………

Cheryl kept the seat warm in the car while I photographed this farm in Litchfield CT. I believe, these days, it is primarily a horse farm. If you look at coral at the far right there are some horses present. Only modification in photoshop was the foreground by the roadway. Photographed with Sony A7RII and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens @ 38 mm. 1/160th, f11, ISO 160, Aperture Priority
