Horse farm barn in Middletown CT
I don’t typically see this large gambrel style barn on horse farms so it was nice to come upon it. This style is more typical of cow farms. I think it is a beautifully built barn and I particularly like it’s grand front entrance. The sign on the front wall says “Old Farms Riding Club Middletown CT”. There wasn’t much activity the day I was there but this horse riding club appears to be active. A residential neighborhood has cropped up around it but, I’m sure, at one time this was all rural land. Grazing horses in Hamden & Cheshire, CT
[wzslider autoplay=”true” interval=”5000″ height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”] Three of the photo’s were from the grounds of the Giant Valley Polo Club, 640 tuttle Ave., Hamden, CT 06518. One of the photo’s was taken on Half Moon Rd. in Cheshire, CT. These photographs were taken during late Jaunary of 2015 on a very cold frigid day with about 2.5 ft. of snow on the ground. I remember not being able to take any more photographs as my fingers were so numb I couldn’t operate the controls on the camera. However, despite the cold, it was fun. I got what I went there for!
