Cheryl and I went barn hunting in Bethlehem CT (once again). Attached our today’s finds along with a horse and tractor hay bailing picture. All shot with a Sony A7RV, 61 MB, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70, F2.8, GMII lens, aperture priority.

The Bomba Bros. Farm 79 Great Hill Rd, Seymour, CT 06483 This article will take you on a short snippet of a family’s century long journey. What you will read encapsulates why I’ve spent years traveling around Southern CT photographing barns and farms. To me it represents a simpler time, a less cluttered time. A time when the work at hand was tackled by strong, disciplined families, with a work ethic that can only be emulated. This barn was found on North Farms Rd. in Wallingford CT and seems to slowly become engulfed with ivy. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-55 @ 42 (35 equiv/63mm). 1/250th, F 5.3, ISO 250, Aperture Priority.

Barn in Bethlehem CT
Cheryl and I were out “barn hunting” in Bethlehem CT and came upon this beautiful white barn. It appeared that the 2nd floor was full of hay bails. Like my father before me I worked on a dairy farm as a kid. I remember being at the top of one of those conveyors receiving bails of hay and having to stack them as fast as I could to keep up with the farmer below. It was hot and the air was not very healthy but it was a memory I wouldn’t trade. Photographed with Nikon D7100, 24MP camera and 18-55 mm lens shot @ 35mm (35mm equiv = 52 mm).…
