    Hammonasset State Park

    On a beautiful day in May I decided to stop at Hammonasset State Park (Beach) and take a walk around. Fall and early spring are always my favorite times at the beach because there is no one there except for the occasional walker and I have the entire place to myself. Spoken like a true introvert eh? I would have taken more images but I was pressed for time. The building you see if where there sell concessions once the beach opens up for summer but at this time it was closed. All images photographed with a Sony A7RV, at the 26mp resolution setting, and a Sony 24-70 GMII lens.

    [wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”] Hammonasset State Park, Madison, CT CT’s largest beach offers two miles of coastline for sunning or relaxing as well as a substantial camping area.  If you want to photograph the coast the best times to go are at sunrise or just before sunset.  Not only will the beach be less crowded but the skies are rich with colors. However my schedule rarely permits those hours so, for me, the best time to get unobstructed shots is during the winter.  I took these photographs on a cool, brisk, windy day in March.  There were no fishermen, no beach strollers and certainly no sunbathers.  I had run of…
