    Abandoned Silo in Woodbury CT

Cheryl and I were photographing barns in the Woodbury/Roxbury area when she spotted this old abandoned silo off in a field. I immediately turned the car around and drove down a very short dirt road to this beautiful relic of a silo. I always find beauty in abandoned buildings, barns, silo’s etc. not to mention the “story” I conjure up in my mind of what life was like back in the day. I found this silo particularly beautiful in its own right complete with graffiti. It was surrounded by woods as far as the eye could see, except on the south side where the main road cut through not far…

Abandoned but a canvas to many………..Plymouth CT

Abandoned building in Plymouth CT. It’s been like this for years and years. It had to have been at least 15 years ago that I photographed this building but from the other side. I love the colorful graffiti. If you look carefully into the right side of the image you’ll see the silhouette of a woman standing in one of the openings. I don’t know what occupied this building back in the day. It’s very visible from the road and I’m sure one of our readers must know what this was. Please write in and let us know if you do. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42MP, full framed, mirrorless…

    German Shepard protects Burlington barn……………

Look closely into the image and you’ll see a German Shepard lying in the grass perhaps claiming his territory. Either way I thought it good to keep my distance. You’ll also notice that somewhat thought it was appropriate to spray paint HAPPY B-DAY. Cheryl mapped out our next barn while I quickly photographed this with my Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full framed, mirrorless and a Sony 24-105 F4 @ 37 mm. Scene shot as it except foreground (grassy area) was modified in Photoshop. 1/160th, f11, ISO 200, Aperture Priority

    Wall Art – Boston, MA

[wzslider autoplay=”true” interval=”6000″ height=”800″ lightbox=”true”]Photographed with a Samsung Galaxy Note II phone camera. Interesting wall art on the side of an old four story brick building in Boston, MA on Franklin St. in the Brighton section of the city. Because the wall art was 3 and 4 stories up I couldn’t get close enough to examine it.  It appears that the windows were boarded up and painting were done on the wood. I thought this was quite an interesting way to make an old building have some appeal.
