[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”] The Gold Star Memorial Bridge comprises a pair of bridges that carry northbound and southbound traffic on Interstate 95 over the Thames River.  These bridges connect New London and Groton, CT.  The first bridge was built in 1943 and second bridge was built 30 years later as traffic flow warranted.  This is the largest bridge in the State of Connecticut.
