Ant on a pink plant
I happend to catch this ant wandering around a flower. Ants actually do seek nectar from flowers but because they have very little hair so there is no place for pollen to stick on them so they are rather poor pollenators. Photographed with: Nikon D7100, Nikon 40 mm MACRO lens, Nikon SB-400 flash (hand held off camera), tripod mounted. ISO 400, 1/100th, f11, MANUAL MODE.

From the “cactus” family of plants
This plant is from the cactaceae family best known for cactus’s. This is one of our house plants and it’s an all green plant. It has numerous “spikes” on it’s leaves. I rendered it B & W in photshop. Photographed with a Nikon D7100 24.3 mp DSLR and a 40mm Nikon macro lens. To ensure sharpness throughout the image I took (16) images at different focus points and “focused stacked” all the layers into one final image. ISO 100, 1/125, f8, various studio lights.

Springtime in New England
[wzslider height=”600″ lightbox=”true”]Not much to say. Saw some beautiful side lighting coming into this flower which gave it almost a translucent look. So I took the shot. Front lit with pop up flash using a -3 flash exposure value. Photographed with Sony Nex 7, 24 MP, mirrorless camera and a Sony E 50mm, 1.8 OSS lens.
