Technology comes to an old barn

Cheryl and I were barn chasing in East Hampton CT and photographed this  barn which was topped with a solar panel on Hurd Park Rd. I’ve photographed a lot of barns and this is the first one I’ve seen with a solar panel.  I like the old tractor they had situated on the property. Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24 MP, mirrorless camera and a Sony 55-210 @ 100 mm. 1/250th, f11, ISO 400, Aperture priority

Barn on Rt. 6 in Andover CT Rt. 6 is a busy, high speed road and the only way to get this shot, (without trespassing), is to stand on the edge of Rt. 6 while vehicles rush past you just feet away around 50 mph. TIP:  If I’m shooting on the road, any road, I wear a brightly colored reflective safety vest.  I also purchased, for merely $8.00, an orange collapsible safety cone which I put on the roadway about 30 ‘ before my vehicle to alert oncoming cars.  Keep your four way flashers going as well. Barn at Dry Bridge Rd., Simsbury CT

While barn hunting in Simsbury CT, on a lovely Saturday afternoon, with Cheryl we came upon this old barn nestled in the foothills. Unfortunately most of the silo and barn itself are hidden by a tree, but you take what you can get. Photographed with a Nikon D7100, 24MP DSLR and an 18-55mm lens @ 55mm (35mm equiv. = 82mm). 1/125th, f16, ISO 400

Old farm & barn, Durham CT

An old tractor sits quietly in a farm on the Chamberlain Highway in Berlin CT. The barn in the back ground has been unoccupied for years and years. I had always thought, by virtue of the construction, that this barn once occupied chicken coups. If any of you have any history on this barn please write in. Photographed with A Nikon D7100, 24MP camera and an 18-55 lens at 55 mm (35 mm = 82 mm). 1/160th, f11, ISO 1000
