    South Farms – Morris CT

South Farms – The White Barn 211 Higbie Rd., Morris CT First let me start by saying is this not a beautiful barn and setting? Wow! The upkeep over the years has kept this barn in pristine condition. Sam and Ruth Paletsky owned a cattle farm her from the 40’s thru the 70’s. I’ve seen a lot of farms in my travels and I even worked on one in high school and I’ve got to tell you if I was going to start a family and work the farm this would be the place I’d want to do it. This piece of property is so serene and beautiful, not to…

Grazing Horses in the fall……….Hamden CT

I took a ride over to the Hamden Polo Grounds to see what I could find. It was a beautiful fall day and leaves were dropping fast. They had four fenced in fields camera accessible from the road to pick from. Each one had horses but varying backgrounds. I ultimately chose the image, with the three horses, as my favorite. It framed the horses nicely and had the most colorful fall backdrop. Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24.3MP, APS-C mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 F3.5-5.6 lens @ 54mm (35mm = 81mm). 1/320th, f5.6, ISO 800, Aperture Priority

    Abandoned barn in Harwinton CT

As usual, what most people drive by giving little notice, I find beauty. This aging, weathering, old barn set against a beautiful fall backdrop makes for a nice “abandoned” image. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42MP, full framed, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105mm at 65mm. ISO 400, 1/310th, f10, Aperture Prioerity

Goats in front of the barn in Harwinton CT

There was a small group of goats just off camera to the right but these three were nice enough to head over my way and pay me a visit. This scene was shot in the countryside of Harwinton CT. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42 MP, full framed, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105mm F4 lengs at 43mm. ISO 100, 1/200th, F11, Aperture Priority

    Cow Farm in Harwinton CT

Just an old dairy farm in Harwinton CT. If you look closely at the center of the image you can see a farmer walking through. Dairy farms are pretty much a thing of the past in this state these days. Photographed with a Sony A7RII 42MP, full framed, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105 F4 lens at 82mm. ISO 800, 1/125th, f13, Aperture priority

    Country Horse Barn, Durham CT

Cheryl and I were driving back from our hike at Millers Pond State Park where we happened upon this serene country scene in Durham CT. I was able to quickly pull over and take the photograph from my drivers side window. The barn on the hill – Woodbury CT

Cheryl and I were fortunate enough to find this beautiful barn. We’ll be back a couple of more times to chase down more barns in this rural old town. We were quite pleased with the way it sat atop the hill with a field of wild flowers or possibly just ragweed. Either way they offered up some nice bright yellow for the foreground. Photographed with a Sony A7RII, 42 MP, mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-105 mm F4 lens at 105mm. ISO 1250, 1/200th, F16, Aperture Priority
