[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”] The word “thanks” seems so shallow and empty when I think of the 4,801 U.S. Military personnel that have lost their lives in the Iraq War since its inception in March of 2003. As of Dec. 01 this was the last count. During the same time period 32,223 military personnel have been wounded. A vast majority of the injuries consist of mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, and amputees. In addition suicides are at the highest rate all time that the military has ever experienced. Secret Societies of Yale University

Cheryl and I decided to venture down to New Haven, CT and photograph the meeting places of the most well known secret societies of Yale’s University. They are, in order of prominence, Skull and Bones, Scroll and Keys, Wolf’s Head. Skull and Bones was founded in 1832. Members of some of Yales better known debating societies were in a dispute and decided to begin their own society.Shown to the left is the meeting place, (typically Tuesday and Thursday evenings), of Bonesmen at the Tomb since being built in 1856. Castle Craig – Meriden, CT
[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]Castle Craig, dedicated October 29, 1900 and given to the people of Meriden, Connecticut by Walter Hubbard is part of the 1,800-acres known as Hubbard Park named after Hubbard. There are hiking trails to the tower (most notably the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail) as well as Reservoir Road which is open for vehicular traffic from April to October – 10 AM to 4:45 PM. Walkers and joggers are allowed use of this road 365 days of the year during normal park operating hours which is basically sunrise to sunset.
