    Grass Island, Guilford CT

    [wzslider height=”800″ lightbox=”true”]Grass Island Located at the eastern most end of Whitfield St., in Guilford CT sits Grass Island.  Now an iconic location to shorelines residents Grass Island was originally constructed around 1900 as a summer cottage. Burnt down and reconstructed in 1930 it was moved to a higher ground due to flooding concerns. Although not actually an island it is accessible by a local road on the other side of the Long Island Sounds inlet.  The shack has fallen to vandals and a lack of up keep over recent years causing the current owner, (the Town of Guilford), to place a fence around it.
