Saybrook Point Inn, lighthouse & marina.

Saybrook Point Inn Marina 2 Bridge St, Old Saybrook, CT 06475 Located at the juncture of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound is one of Connecticut’s finest Inn’s. I’ve personally stayed here and was very pleased. My photographs are from the beautiful marina/lighthouse located to the rear of the Inn. I took these pictures in early April so the boats haven’t docked for the season as of yet. The Inn is also the location for numerous weddings. Couples frequently use the marina as a backdrop for their formal photographs.

    Stratford Point Lighthouse

STRATFORD POINT LIGHTHOUSE End of Prospect Drive Stratford, CT The Stratford Point Lighthouse was constructed, on the present day site, back in 1881.  It is owned and operated by the U.S.Coast Guard and is in use today as a navigational aid.  It sits at the mouth of the Housatonic River where it meets the Stratford Harbord. The Lighthouse is 35′ tall and is made of cast iron with a brick lined interior.  The inside is fairly void with the exception of a wrought iron spiraling staircase up to the light.  It is my understanding that the accompanying home, most likely, is lived in by U.S.Coast Guard personnel.
