We had gotten a light snow fall and wanted to head over to this beautiful barn in Northford CT not far from the Wallingford line. Pristine horse barn – Oxford CT
Cheryl and I were taking back roads in the Oxford/Southbury area and stumbled upon this beautiful barn. It appears to be fairly new construction. A peek in the front door reveals a couple of horse stalls. There were also some horses in the pasture which is not seen in the image. Photographed with a Sony 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 24-70 F2.8 GMII lens at 37mm. 1/60th, F11, ISO 64 Aperture Priority, Focus Stacked.

Grazing Horses in the fall……….Hamden CT
I took a ride over to the Hamden Polo Grounds to see what I could find. It was a beautiful fall day and leaves were dropping fast. They had four fenced in fields camera accessible from the road to pick from. Each one had horses but varying backgrounds. I ultimately chose the image, with the three horses, as my favorite. It framed the horses nicely and had the most colorful fall backdrop. Photographed with a Sony Nex 7, 24.3MP, APS-C mirrorless camera and a Sony 18-55 F3.5-5.6 lens @ 54mm (35mm = 81mm). 1/320th, f5.6, ISO 800, Aperture Priority

Pristine Colorfully Warm Barn – Woodbury CT
This is the second of three barns that Cheryl and I were able to photograph today in Woodbury CT. This main barn is actually much longer than it appears from this camera angle. If you look closely you can see where it juts out in the rear and the length continues considerably. This entire property from the grounds, to the farm house and the three barns is absolutely pristine. You can’t even find a paint chip. It was quite obvious that these barns are quite old but no worse for wear. They almost appear brand new, at a glance, due to the exceptional level of maintenance that was afforded them.…

Beautiful Kent CT Barn in the Fall
Cheryl and I went to scenic Kent CT this fall for the purposes of capturing some beautiful barn images. You’d never guess it but this was photographed on the edge of a downtown parking lot. Just behind me about 50 – 100 yards were hundreds of people taking advantage of the fall weather going in and out of small quaint shops and restaurants. However, everything pointing west, in the direction of my camera, was just scenic countryside. Kent is situated in the northwest region of CT bordering New York State about a 45 minute drive north from the City of Danbury. There is a special charm to Kent and worth…

It’s a one horse show…………..
Another day of barn hunting with my beautiful wife Cheryl. This barn was on a fairly well traveled route through Harwinton CT. However, having said that bear in mind Harwinton only has population of about 5000 people so it’s still a nice country road. I only had this one angle on the barn and I couldn’t wait for the horse to be in a better position because I was being eyeballed by an individual who I don’t think wanted me there. So it was one and done and out in a minute for this photographer. Fortunately I was able to walk away with an acceptable image. Photographed with a Sony…
