German Shepard protects Burlington barn……………
Look closely into the image and you’ll see a German Shepard lying in the grass perhaps claiming his territory. Either way I thought it good to keep my distance. You’ll also notice that somewhat thought it was appropriate to spray paint HAPPY B-DAY. Cheryl mapped out our next barn while I quickly photographed this with my Sony A7RII 42.4 MP full framed, mirrorless and a Sony 24-105 F4 @ 37 mm. Barn – Mount Carmen Ave., Hamden CT
Looks like the barn to the right/rear was probably the original and the barn in the foreground was added at a later time. These barns are situated on a nice piece of property on Mount Carmel Ave. in Hamden. This road is probably best known for Sleeping Giant State Park and Quinnipiac University. Hopefully the owner is able to tend to the gaping hole in the roof before too much serious deterioration is done. Other than that the exterior has been preserved fairly well. The Portland Bridge, Portland CT
To us locals it’s known as the Portland Bridge as it connects Middletown to Portland CT. However, its official name is the Arrigoni Bridge. This image was taken in Cromwell on the river bank of the Connecticut River. In the background is Middletown. Only about 1/3 of the bridge was visible from my vantage point. There is another complete arch to the bridge on the Portland side as well as “non-arched” bridging. There are two eastbound and two westbound lanes. The bridge carries traffic from Rt. 66/Rt. 17 and see’s about 34,000 cars a day. Construction on the bridge was completed in 1938. It’s length is 3428 ft. and 44.9…
