Old farm & barn, Durham CT

An old tractor sits quietly in a farm on the Chamberlain Highway in Berlin CT. The barn in the back ground has been unoccupied for years and years. I had always thought, by virtue of the construction, that this barn once occupied chicken coups. If any of you have any history on this barn please write in. Photographed with A Nikon D7100, 24MP camera and an 18-55 lens at 55 mm (35 mm = 82 mm). 1/160th, f11, ISO 1000

    Barn in Bethlehem CT

Cheryl and I were out “barn hunting” in Bethlehem CT and came upon this beautiful white barn. It appeared that the 2nd floor was full of hay bails. Like my father before me I worked on a dairy farm as a kid. I remember being at the top of one of those conveyors receiving bails of hay and having to stack them as fast as I could to keep up with the farmer below. It was hot and the air was not very healthy but it was a memory I wouldn’t trade. Photographed with Nikon D7100, 24MP camera and 18-55 mm lens shot @ 35mm (35mm equiv = 52 mm).…

“Peace on Earth” – North Haven Barn

This charming old barn is situated on the east side of North Haven adjacent to a residence. It looks like it’s still in use and in nice shape. I chose this for the December image of my 2017 wall calendar not only because it’s beautiful and unique but because of the signage. Photographed with a Nikon D7100 24.3 MP DSLR and a Nikon 18-55 3.5-5.6 lens at 36mm (35mm equiv.) 1/250th, f5.6, iso 200, Aperture priority
