    Blackstone River, March 2024

Occasionally I have business in Cumberland RI.  When I do I often stop at the Cumberland River State Park which is directly behind the Cumberland Mill Condominiums.  This location, by the highway and walking bridge brings me nothing but peace.  I just take in the surrounding view as well as the rushing water from the Blackstone River.  You can’t beat it for lowering blood pressure. The day I visited there had been considerable rainfall previously for quite some time and the rivers water level was several feet higher than normal.  All the tree’s in the image and video were partially under water. I did not have my photography equipment with…

Avery Beverages – 2024 Presidential Campaign Bottles

I was impressed by Avery Beverages marketing approach with the 2024 presidential campaign labels on their pop bottles. As a result, I took an image and made a video. Sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 90mm f2.8 lens were used int the making of the video and image. Image: 1/10th, f8, ISO 100, MANUAL MODE Red colored back light, (2) font/side lights. White reflective board on sides, back and top.

    Spring

Bought this little vase and faux flower at the local Dollar General. Tried to put together a shot that conveyed the idea of spring emerging. Photographed with a sony A7RV, 61mp mirrorless camera and a Sony 90mm f2.8 lens. 1/8, f22, ISO 100, MANUAL MODE

    Abandoned House in Meriden CT

Set back considerably off the road on N.Broad St., Meriden CT is this old abandoned home. Probably a thriving refuse for a growing family at one time now simply the bones remain. If anyone can like abandoned structures I must say I really like this one. If you look towards the top left corner of the house you’ll see a hawk sitting on an electrical wire. Photographed with a Sony A7RV, 61MP mirrorless camera. Lens was a Sony GMII 24-70 f2.8 using Clear image zoom 120mm. 1/500th, f8, ISO 1000, Aperture Priority

Abandoned BG Graphics Sign Company, Meriden CT

For years and years I’ve driven by this abandoned BG Graphics building on the Berlin Turnpike in Meriden CT. I finally took the time to photograph it. When I see a building that has become completely engulfed by the surrounding environment I’m always intrigued. In front of the building was, at one time, a paved parking lot. However, nature has taken that over as well. I’m sure this company was thriving back in the day and, for whatever reason, it’s just a memory. Although I find abandoned building photography interesting that’s not to say that I’m not without empathy for the people and circumstances that led to this. I wish…

    Anyone got a lawnmower?

Located in Nyack NY this residential property seems to be in need of some landscaping. It may have been this way for quite some time as the trees as actually closing in on the house. When I took the shot I thought it was an abandoned house but once I loaded it up on my computer it’s very possible that someone still lives here but is unable to maintain the exterior of the property possibly due to health or financial reasons (I have no idea). It’s actually quite a beautiful house. I like the attic bedroom in the top left corner of the home and the lines of the home.…

    Abandoned House, Plantsville CT

Located on Meriden Waterbury Rd., this house was probably the home for a growing family at one time. However it’s since been left to age. Sony clear image zoom was employed to render a final focal length of 70mm. 1/320th, f11, ISO 400, Aperture Priority

Miniature Car in a Big City

This is not a real scene. It is a composite photo from (5) different images. The only thing that is from an actual image is the setting itself consisting of the three buildings and parking lot. The signs, person and car were added. The car was a 1/24th scale diecast aluminum car photographed in my studio then inserted into the image. The individual is not real and was AI created in photoshop to try and tell a story. CAR photographed in studio: Sony A74V, Sony 90 mm f2.8 GMII lens.1/60th, f8, ISO 800, MANUAL MODEOverhead light, background light and foreground light. Video: Same equipment but with an electric turntable.
